Life in the town became really scary when the books were burned and replaced by the computers. Instead of being naturally-born explorers, children were converted, by degrees, into consumers of information. Armen refused to participate and fled to a the mountains on the back of a crow. One day he'd return; The town needed him and he needed the town.

Welcome to LetterLand, where doodles, dreams and delights are mediated by brown paper, string, dashed and dotted lines and many, many (MANY!) fabulous stamps from fabulous places. The words play and arrange themselves in capricious designs in endless variations on the enclosures.

There was a time when LetterLand swamped the gunnels now it's parched as a desert and I await a "someday rain". Until then, I anxiously while away the dead days and archive and cultivate and spell anagrams or rebuses with some of the bits.

Here, two castles sort out their walls and contemplate plumbing, passageways and ways to palaver.

Emil is out for a jaunty slither, a snaky stroll. He revels in his bright new skin. The old skin is hanging up in the back of his closet where it is probably already forgotten. The sun is shining gaily on the gallant reptile. He regards the orb in the sky and decides that it shall be the moon and his lady friend awaits him by moonlight. You go Emil. You look great! I had my DNA tested the other day. Here are the results: In addition to the usual nucleotides adenine, thymine, cytosine and guanine, trace amounts of the following proteins were indicated in my genetic soup: miroine, calderine and giacomettine. Also, small amounts of steinbergine, ungerine and many other (too many to quantify like stars in the sky or sand on the beach!) unique and fluctuating components. I'm healthy!
